The Top 6 Wedding Melodies You Can Never Go Wrong With
Even after taking care of everything on your wedding to-do list, something as simple as music can lift up the mood of your guests and bring them all together in appreciation of your big day. Here are the top six wedding melodies you can never go wrong with. We have chosen three melodies for the prelude and three melodies for the reception party.

The Top 3 Melodies For The Prelude
Prelude music is played prior to the wedding ceremony while the guests are arriving. Around 30 minutes of music is typically required. If you are searching for inspiration for your big day, here are the top three pieces of wedding prelude music.

#1. Sheep May Safely Graze – J. S. Bach
Johann Sebastian Bach composed the Hunting Cantata in 1713 for the 31st birthday of Duke Christian of Saxe-Weissenfels. The forth Aria ‘Sheep May Safely Graze’ is the best-known section of this Cantata. As a performance usually lasts for 40 minutes, it makes ideal prelude music for any wedding. A Weimar court poet Salomon Franck, who drew on mythological references to hunting, supplied the lyrics. This is one of the most popular pieces of prelude music and is sure to go down a storm at any wedding.

#2. Moonlight Sonata – Beethoven
The Moonlight Sonata is instantly recognizable and makes the perfect prelude music for any wedding. The sonata’s full name is ‘Piano Sonata No. 14 in C-sharp minor’ and the most memorable section is actually the first of three movements from a much longer sonata. The sonata was phenomenally popular even during Beethoven’s lifetime and according to Alexander Wheelock Thayer, Beethoven expressed exasperation at its enduring popularity when he remarked ‘Surely I’ve written better things.’ The sonata is fantastic prelude music and a great way to start any wedding.

#3. Air From Suite For Orchestra No. 3 (Air on the G-String) – J. S. Bach
The Air on the G String was the first work by J. S. Bach ever to be recorded in the year 1902 by a Russian cellist and an unknown pianist. Air on the G String is August Wilhelmj’s arrangement of the second movement in Bach’s Orchestral Suite No. 3 in D major, BWV 1068. This piece is very popular as wedding prelude music. It is around the perfect length for all the guests to find their seats and manages to put everyone in the right frame of mind for the seriousness of what is to follow.

The Top 3 Melodies For The Reception Party
Those top three pieces of prelude wedding music are well-known and sure to win the approval of even the most discerning wedding guests. Choosing music for the reception party is a little trickier. Couples usually have ‘their’ song that they want to be played and musical tastes vary wildly. According to a leading jukebox hire firm the top three wedding melodies are:

#1.When You Say Nothing At All – Ronan Keating

#2.How Deep Is Your Love – Bee Gees

#3.Nothing Compares To You – Sinead O’Connor
